ITINERARY

1ST DAY • US / SAN JOSE
Arrival in San Jose International Airport where you will be met by our representatives. Transfer to the deluxe Corteza Amarilla Hotel.

2ND DAY • POAS VOLCANO - LA PAZ WATERFALLS GARDENS / ARENAL
We depart San Jose early this morning for our tour of Poas Volcano. Anyone peering into Poás enormous crater with its boiling, sulfurous lake, is reminded of the great power of nature. The volcano's active crater is one of the largest in the world. Poás Volcano National Park protects a spectacular cloud forest that offers tempting trails that lead you through the exotic flora of this unique environment. After this exciting experience, we will head our way to La Paz Waterfall Gardens. Guests will be amazed by the variety of climates and experiences that Waterfall Gardens presents including both Cloud and Rain Forests. Five magnificent waterfalls with nine viewing platforms allow visitors an up close and personal view of the falls and the spectacular La Paz River. This tour also includes a visit to the largest butterfly observatory in the world, where each guest will have the opportunity to release a newly emerged butterfly. In the Hummingbird Garden. Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at the terrace dining room before we continue to our final destination, the Arenal volcano. In La fortuna you will get first glimpse of this mighty giant. Dinner and overnight at the new Arenal Volcano Inn Hotel. Meals BLD

3RD DAY • TABACON HOT MINERAL SPRINGS & ARENAL VOLCAN
After breakfast, morning at leisure or rent horses to further explore the area from the vantage point of the saddle. After lunch and later this afternoon, we'll visit the most spectacular active volcano in Costa Rica and the famous Tabacon Hot Springs Spa nestled at the base of mighty Arenal with a view of the Volcano towering in the background. Here, thermo-mineral springs flowing from Arenal run at a soothing 102 F through a maze of pools, waterfalls and exotic tropical gardens. On a clear day you may be rewarded with a magnificent display of fireworks as Arenal launches plumes of smoke and fire high into the darkening sky. Back to Arenal Volcano for overnight. Meals BLD

4TH DAY • MONTEVERDE
Early in the morning departure for an adventurous drive up the mountain to reach the town of Monteverde. Check-in and lunch at the lovely Heliconia. This afternoon, we’ll visit the Butterfly Garden. The gardens of this study center are full of stunning butterflies including the Blue Morpho. Dinner and overnight at the Heliconia Hotel. Meals BLD

5TH DAY • MONTEVERDE BIOLOGICAL RESERVE
After breakfast you will visit the Monteverde Biological Reserve, a cloud forest rich in tropical flora and fauna. It stretches from the lush ferns and mosses which blanket the ground to the dark canopy formed from the tallest trees. It is composed of six different,
highly diversified ecological communities of plants and animals. Then a visit to the Hummingbird Gallery to view nature photography at its best. Lunch at the Heliconia Hotel or a box-lunch for those who wish to stay longer. Afternoon at leisure. (see optional tours on page 5). Overnight at the Heliconia Hotel. Meals BLD

6TH - 7TH DAY • GUANACASTE
After breakfast depart from Arenal for your 4 hour private transfer to Guanacaste and the beautiful beach hotel, Bahia del Sol located in Playa Potrero. for a 2 nigth stay (or select any hotel from holidays in Costa Rica Group 3 hotels). Meals B Daily

8TH DAY • LIBERIA (GUANACASTE)/U.S.
Morning transfer to the Liberia Internaiotnal Airport for your departure flight. Meals B
